About Me
My name is Dionne Reynolds and I am currently a teacher at Beulah Shoesmith Elementary School. I have been a teacher with Chicago Public schools for about 16 years. I have only two assignments during this time and the majority of these years have been at Shoesmith. I am a proud mother of one and an even prouder grandmother of a beautiful granddaughter. I have taught taught all subject areas and find that my passion lies with teaching mathematics.
I developed this love for math as a child and it has carried on throughout my adult life and into my teaching career. My goal as a teacher of mathematics is to help student to develop a love or a strong like for math. All to often, I hear students say, "I don't like math! I'm not good at math!" Or a parent will say, "He or she isn't good at math because I wasn't good at math". I really want people to understand that being good at math isn't hereditary. Just like anything else in the world, when you practice correctly you become better. This is something I hope to instill in my students. Outside of teaching math, I like to draw, sew, travel and spend time with my family.
